Design Sessions

Whether you’re a Fortune 500 company or a startup non-profit, Catapult both facilitates and participates in one-day or one-hour Design Session addressing a topic of need for your project.  In addition to employing our team of experienced designers, we’ve spent years building a network of specialists we engage on a needs basis in the fields of:  industrial design, design research, solar power, and alternative fuels.

Samples of previous Design Sessions:

x_foundationX PRIZE FOUNDATION:  Catapult facilitated and documented a two-part brainstorm session on an in-development X PRIZE, a new challenge focused on addressing the needs of the world’s poor.  Catapult was asked to contribute ideas for the challenge as well define attributes and evaluation metrics.

headerDISSIGNO | OPPORTUNITY EDUCATION:  Catapult participated in a design charrette organized and led by dissigno for Opportunity Education, a US-based non-profit with educational tools in 900+ schools in seven developing countries.  Catapult’s technical expertise and developing world experience was used to help identify opportunity for increasing the reach of Opportunity Education’s product.

WCSWE CARE Solar:  Catapult delivered and installed WCS’s Solar Suitcase prototype at the Minazi Health Post in rural Rwanda.  The Solar Suitcase is a plug-and-play source of renewable power for African health clinics.  Through introduction, training, and installation, Catapult was able to gather critical feedback on the design to inform WCS’ future development.  Download the installation report here (1MB).

fpMHIPPO WATER INTERNATIONAL:  Catapult conducted a rapid exploration of water treatment options for Hippo Water International’s product, the Hippo Water Roller. Conceptual development considered the impact on the current design, manufacturing, and user-perception.  In the two-week study we were able to quickly inform HWI of the water treatment opportunities for their existing product.  Download a partial idea book here (2.0MB).
