Angela Hariche
CEO, Catapult Design
Angela Hariche joined Catapult Design as CEO in May 2019. Angela has extensive experience in the international development space working with the United Nations, Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the philanthropic sector, and social entrepreneurs. She has led major initiatives for the Sustainable Development Goals in Liberia, Indonesia, India, the U.S., Ghana, Kenya, Bangladesh (and others) by leading product design and execution and building networks and platforms for progress in the area. She has also led teams of designers and strategists as managing director of the global design and creative agency Pearlfisher and co-founded boutique media company Two Lane Films.
Angela attended and graduated from UC Berkeley Greater Good Science Center, Syracuse University in Visual and Performing Art (B.A.), the Open University in the UK in Social Science, Cultural Analysis (M.A.), L’Université Paris-Sorbonne (French), and the American University of Paris (Design).
Angela is dedicated to building global design expertise at Catapult Design and fostering innovation through inclusive, localized methodologies. Angela has led initiatives such as the “Indigenizing Design” methodology with new designers in the Navajo Nation and the “Designing Together” program with Cone Health Hospital Group in rural North Carolina, which focused on enhancing the innovation capacity of hospital teams and nonprofits.
Through the Gates Foundation’s “Gender Equality Design Labs”, Angela has worked to create opportunities for local designers in Senegal, Ethiopia, Nigeria, and Kenya, addressing community-specific challenges. Additionally, Angela has spearheaded efforts to design the next generation of non-hormonal contraceptives in collaboration with African designers. Angela’s work centers on building capacity and creating meaningful opportunities for designers worldwide.
