Annemarie Spitz
Service Designer and Design Researcher
Annemarie is a service designer, design researcher, and community facilitator, with extensive experience guiding projects from framing through implementation. She has led every stage of user-centered research and design, emphasizing the creation of new programs, strategies, and digital and analog tools. Her focus in the social sector is grounded by over ten years of experience working with non-profit and community-based organizations.
Annemarie has a Bachelor’s in Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis, with a focus on American Culture Studies. She then completed a Master’s in Design for Sustainability at the Savannah College of Art and Design, where her work concentrated on design research, behavior change, and community facilitation. She is currently a professor of design at Washington University. Outside of design, Annemarie’s early years in technical theatre fostered her love for storytelling, and she remains an avid theatre fan.
Her relevant work with Catapult Design includes: “Designing Together” with Cone Health Hospital Group in rural North Carolina to build the design capacity of the hospital’s innovation teams and several non-profits.
