Montana Cherney
Development Director
Montana Cherney is a creative strategist and design leader focused on innovation in healthcare, government, and public services. She began her career as a designer and researcher at the Mayo Clinic’s Center for Innovation, developing a deep commitment to improving health systems through human-centered design.
With expertise in public health and life sciences, Montana helps global organizations and local teams expand access to care and improve health outcomes. She works alongside communities, healthcare workers, and policymakers to develop inclusive, country-led solutions and align teams for effective implementation.
Her expertise spans family planning, maternal and child health, HIV, autoimmune diseases, diabetes, oncology, neurology, health emergencies, vaccines, urgent care, and end-of-life care. Montana has led projects across Africa, the Americas, Asia, and Europe, with work in Brazil, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Ghana, India, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Lesotho, Malaysia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, Spain, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Uganda, the UK, the US, Vietnam, and Zimbabwe.
Montana joined Catapult Design in March 2025 as our Development Director. She holds degrees from McGill University and the Cooper Union School of Art, as well as a master’s degree from Rhode Island School of Design.
