Pragya Mishra

Pragya Mishra applies her deep strategy and design expertise to foster social innovation across global health, financial inclusion, and more. Pragya completed her graphic design studies at the National Institute of Design (NID) in Gujarat, India, before embarking on her journey with DSI at the School of Visual Arts in 2013. Throughout her time at NID, she dedicated herself to projects with a strong social impact, exemplified by her thesis work collaborating with the NGO Doosra Dashak in Rajasthan, India. There, she crafted educational materials tailored for rural adolescents facing challenging circumstances. Pragya’s global perspective was further enriched during an exchange program at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, France, where she pursued the Graphique et Multimedia course.

She uses a human-centered approach to understand user interactions with products and systems. Specializing in Global Public Health, particularly in the U.S. and emerging markets, she has supported organizations like the Gates and Rockefeller Foundations, Sabin Vaccine Institute, and Wellcome Trust. Her work encompasses developing innovative health solutions and research-driven sustainable models for local implementation. 

Pragya’s relevant work with Catapult Design includes building capacity and opportunity for local designers in Senegal, Ethiopia, Nigeria, and Kenya through a Gates Foundation project called “Gender Equality Design Labs”. Additionally, leading local designers in Africa to design the next non-hormonal contraceptive.
