Alissa joined Catapult in 2024, bringing over a decade of marketing expertise and a heart deeply committed to advocacy. She has led her own marketing agency for 10 years and has taught communication strategy at the University of Evansville.

Alissa’s leadership is helping us shape narratives that reflect the nuance, depth, and dignity of this important work and the communities we serve.

As our quarterly Core Values Award recipient, we are grateful for the vision and heart she brings to the Catapult family! 💛

Our collaboration with Ooloi Labs has been powerful. Together, we've tackled multiple projects that rely on their expertise in customizing their product the Open Knowledge Framework to collect, manage and analyze qualitative data. Their product empowers researchers to extract meaningful insights from intricate datasets—critical for addressing nuanced, community-specific challenges.

Our collaboration feels seamless—we're truly one team. They consistently show up ready to engage in everything from discussing deep philosophical questions and troubleshooting tech to brainstorming on deliverables. Without a strong doctor-patient relationship or a

Without a strong doctor-patient relationship or a reliable healthcare safety net, many Indians with chronic conditions rely on their own research, advice from family, chemists, and social networks to make health decisions. This is the dilemma of the Indian patient, often leading to delayed interventions, inconsistent medication use, and uncertainty about what’s working—a loop of self-assessment, partial adherence, and intermittent crisis that can have serious long-term health consequences.

We partnered with Medwiki, a consumer-first health knowledge platform for trustworthy and accessible information, to understand how their platform can better support patients navigating chronic conditions. Rather than prescribing solutions, discover how our research has helped MedWiki refine critical questions that will shape the platform’s future. We look forward to sharing more, in the next phase of this project.

We’re thrilled to welcome Montana Cherney as our new Development Director! Montana is a creative strategist and design leader with a remarkable track record of advancing innovation in healthcare, government, and public services around the world.

Montana began her career at the Mayo Clinic’s Center for Innovation, sparking a lifelong commitment to transforming health systems through human-centered design. She has since worked across four continents—partnering with communities, healthcare workers, and policymakers—to create inclusive, community-led solutions in areas like maternal and child health, family planning, HIV, oncology, and urgent care. With degrees from McGill, Cooper Union, and RISD, she brings a rare blend of strategic insight and creative heart to her work.

At Catapult, Montana will guide our development strategy as we scale inclusive design processes that center community voices and catalyze global equity.

For too long, global health innovations have been

For too long, global health innovations have been designed far away from the communities they aim to serve—leaving women’s voices out of the conversation. With the leadership of the Gates Foundation and a team of inspiring partners, we’re changing that.

We’ve been working to shift power back to women in Nigeria, Kenya, and Senegal. By working directly with women across diverse backgrounds, we’re uncovering real-world insights that will shape health innovations.

What’s happening now?
– Our work in Nigeria is revealing how education and counseling impact women’s interest in new health products.
– We’re testing a Labs Platform—a tool that connects real stories, quotes, and qualitative insights to investment decisions.
– Next up: expanding research in Kenya and Senegal, ensuring sustained engagement with women on the ground.

This work isn’t just about research—it’s about redesigning how global health decisions are made. Stay tuned for more insights from the Labs!
